Primary Job Purpose
As a Direct Support Professional, you will have the responsibility of maintaining a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for all service recipients, which fosters growth and facilitates the development of mutual aid and self-help skills among individuals. Team members primary role is to provide the appropriate supports tailored to the needs and desires of individuals to enable each to live as independently as possible. Direct Support Professionals are expected to recognize when an individual is in crisis and be able to utilize the appropriate psychiatric and medical back-up services.

The Direct Support Professional will typically work in a home-like setting with occasional work outside and in company-insured vehicles. Frequent sitting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling reaching, and walking for periods of time. Occasional lifting of 50-75 pounds.
